Be good to yourself. Better to your mother. Be patient with your children - if you don’t have any, or they’ve left, that’s absolutely fine, just be nice to people who look younger than you do. Try not to judge; most everyone has a reason for being who they are. Please, please, don’t judge. Say hello to someone you don’t know - today - and, if you’re feeling open, consider asking them how they are. Wear a smile over a frown. Ask a question over a statement. And, before you fall asleep, be nice to yourself - we said that, my bad, though, it absolutely warrants repeat.
Also, meant to say, one of my very favourite people in the world was a parish priest in South Manchester, Father Dave McGarry. I promise to tell you more. He always made me smile, and he will you, too.
