Sunday reading
Kids staying connected through a world of fiction
No reason to, but the last week or so I drifted back to the Covid pandemic—the circumstances, the loss, the anger, the feeling of hopelessness. And that North Face jacket!
A bright spot that resurfaced was a story I followed at the time — Save With Stories — a community-driven fundraiser on Instagram. Authors and others reading books for children on camera, raising money for @savethechildren and @nokidhungry and helping kids stay connected at a difficult time, through a world of fiction. A timely reminder that not being able to play golf paled into insignificance.
At the time, I read a book with someone I cared about, still do; we were 12,000 miles apart—A Gentleman in Moscow (Amor Towles). It was a unique experience that remains with me now.
Story time can still be alive if you want it to be.

Only came across Amor Towles relatively recently, but devoured his books. What a fantastic writer. Hope all is well, and enjoying the posts. Dan.
