Socks first?
The choice that nobody talks about—but everybody makes
The Hundred is underway in the UK—a 100-ball professional cricket tournament that’s all about private investment, team rebranding, and cash. One plus: it runs a women's competition concurrently.
Anyway, the reason I’m sharing this has nothing to do with cricket, and everything to do with socks—or sweaty jocks, as JDF used to call them.
Friday I had a Twitter/X moment. My feed is pretty goosed these days, but I caught a post from an English journalist covering a Hundred game. It must have been an ordinary match—she relayed the commentary box discussion as: "The choice between putting socks on before or after pulling your pants on."
I'd never given this much thought. So I did. Of course I did.
How goes you on this?
I am socks first. Always. The only exception being shorts—then it can go either way. Walking around barefoot in shorts is more doable than pants. For me, anyway.
Sundays are slow. Have a rest on me. But do take note of what goes on first.
Socks before or after? Leave it in the comments. This matters.
Nick
