Ole, Ole, Aussie
Sport bringing people together. How good.
Sunday 15th June—some day for the sporty couch-heads.
I ran into a reader last weekend. Trav was explaining his move to an earlier weekend tee-time, freeing up VCT (we’ve explored acronyms previously)—VCT I didn’t get at first: Valuable Couch Time. Not bad. And yesterday had to have been VCT heaven.
This morning, another reader ran me through his Sunday schedule:
Four games of World Cup football — Australia’s 2-0 win over Turkey being the highlight.
The New York Knicks claiming game five to win the NBA championship.
The Detroit Tigers going down to the Guardians—he loves his baseball.
Some Australian Rules Football, which paled into the background given the groundswell of support for the Socceroos. Shame on the AFL’s scheduling.
Australia’s men’s cricket team winning a bilateral ODI in Bangladesh—as unlikely as the Socceroos win. Peakey will want to have that shot again.
And a Grand Prix to finish it all off.
I managed the Socceroos win and part of the ODI. Work to do on my VCT.
How was yours?
Nick

Women’s World Cup Cricket paved the way for some VCT.
