Like Nic Maddinson, I received an unexpected call-up late last night to the inaugural Cottage by the Sea golf day at Barwon Heads GC.
Like Maddinson’s batting, my golf was serviceable but not good enough to warrant inclusion—a late out helped; we’re still not sure what took Maddinson to South Africa. But then that’s just sport.
So, apologies, and thank you for the “Is everything OK?” messages that landed soon after 10.30 am.
Cottage by the Sea and what they do would have been lost on me; I am glad I could participate and learn more about them—which warrants a standalone post.
