Complacency
Know it's there. Push it away.
It doesn’t have to be terminal. In many cases, it’s inevitable.
Complacency is born out of apathy and boredom—you could say a product of mastery. The better you get at something repeatable, the less you have to engage in executing it. Why do humans make mistakes on an assembly line performing the same action over? Complacency. It’s unavoidable—one of the main reasons robots will eventually win out.
Twenty-one posts into a 365-day commitment, and the doubt is already present—am I repeating myself? Are the stories landing? It’s not a crisis, just complacency being nosey—arriving early and making itself known. I am a returning victim; I know the feel, the comfort of thinking you have something sorted.
Ultimately, complacency is an ever-present partner to progress, ambition, and potential—a subtle invite to rest on your laurels. To win? Know it’s there, push it away, and keep the robots on notice.
