An Influencer
What's wrong with being grounded? Everything.
I know Insta equals Instagram. Do I understand it? Not really. Do I want to? Not really. Do I have an account? Yes. What do I use it for? I don’t know.
So, what actually happens there?
I would say millions of humans spend their days trying to be popular, buying things that make them look good, wearing hats backwards, creating their own version of perfect. People from every corner of the globe are hoping to be the next big thing.
Billions of hours, mostly for free, to augment a social media platform.
Part of the fraud is that the pyramid scheme will pay off for many, when the math tells a different story. Instagram and its like run on a single metric: likes and followers, promoting a rear-window view mentality. What’s wrong with being grounded and seeking effective habits in your daily life? I hear most of those cherished followers aren’t real anyway.
Yesterday I wrote about Wyndham Clark winning the U.S. Open — not a single like, follow, or comment. What a bummer. I’m in a social media coma today.
Anyway. I wanted to learn more about Mr Clark. Following the normal path, I learnt first that he has a new partner—Emily Tanner. Tanner is a prominent American model and, you guessed it, a digital influencer with 738K Instagram followers—haha, a few more than my feeble effort.
No wonder Clark calls her his lucky charm.
